Microsoft is making changes to its AI assistant, Copilot, including renaming Microsoft 365 Copilot, which has led to some confusion since the application does not currently access Microsoft 365 data. Microsoft has also introduced a new taskbar user interface and a keyboard shortcut (Alt + Space) for Copilot on Windows. This quick view floats above other apps and can be triggered from the system tray as well as the new keyboard shortcut.

These changes are part of Microsoft's ongoing efforts to integrate AI capabilities across its platforms. Additionally, Microsoft is advancing its AI technology with the release of GraphRAG 1.0. This update includes major structural and ergonomic improvements aimed at making it easier for developers to use the tool, including a simplified setup process, a new command line interface, and a consolidated API layer. The move to GraphRAG 1.0 reflects Microsoft's commitment to improving user experiences and expanding AI's capabilities in complex fields.
