OpenAI has launched a seasonal 'Santa Mode' for ChatGPT users, allowing them to engage in voice chats with an AI-powered Santa Claus. This feature, available throughout December, can be accessed via a snowflake icon in the app or through voice settings. It works on mobile devices, the web, and desktop applications. The conversations with Santa are temporary and will not be saved to chat history or affect the model's memory. This addition is part of OpenAI's '12 days of OpenAI' marketing event, and during which the company is also resetting Advanced Voice Mode usage limits for users to get a chance to experience this new feature. The company also announced the expansion of its Advanced Voice Mode, now incorporating live video and screen sharing capabilities for ChatGPT Plus, Team, and Pro subscribers. This feature enables users to share their surroundings or display content directly to ChatGPT, enhancing real-time interaction. The rollout is being done in phases, starting with Teams users and most Plus and Pro subscribers, with broader access planned for Europe later. These advancements follow a recent global outage of ChatGPT services, which has since been resolved by OpenAI.
