OpenAI has officially launched Sora, its AI video generation tool, to ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers with the new 'Sora Turbo' version. This tool enables users to generate videos from text prompts, images, and existing video, revolutionizing content creation. Sora Turbo, an accelerated version of the model, offers improved speed and usability. The system, now available through a dedicated website, includes a new storyboard feature, allowing users to precisely define inputs for each frame and customize the video's style, length, and other details. Videos can be output in widescreen, vertical, or square aspect ratios.

Sora aims to provide a foundation for AI that can understand and simulate the real world, and it is intended to be a co-creative tool. While Sora is capable of producing high-quality videos, it still has limitations. These include generating unrealistic physics and struggling with complex actions over long durations and the output is capped at 1080p resolution and 20 seconds. Additionally, the tool is not currently available in the UK, Switzerland, and the European Economic Area, and access is restricted to users aged 18 or older.
